Magic Castle

Magic Castle is an open-source software that simplifies the process of creating a high performance computing (HPC) infrastructure in the cloud. It is designed to replicate the Alliance HPC cluster user environment and can be customized extensively. The infrastructure can be deployed in Alliance cloud, commercial cloud, or on-prem.

Examples of Magic Castle virtual HPC cluster usage include:

  • Learning environment for workshops, training events, graduate courses and hackathons
  • Computing environment for research groups requiring isolated secure HPC
  • Development environment for research groups developing software running on Alliance’s national HPC clusters.

Access Requirements

Available an open source software that can be used by anyone. Deployment and support is available to researcher who are affiliated with a Canadian institution and have an active CCDB account and Alliance Cloud project.

Limited access is available to non-academic researchers.
