Tamanna Moharana is the Curation Officer at Alliance’s Portage Network. She is also part of the Portage’s Curation Expert Group (CEG) and works closely with the curation team to review dataset deposits to Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR). She has Master of Information degree from Dalhousie University with a focus in research data management and information accessibility. Prior to her masters, she worked as a Quality Assurance Analyst for 6 years in India but her passion for environmental brought her to Canada. She is interested in exploring and learning how information can be managed and made accessible for individuals and organizations involved in decision-making processes.
She worked in multiple research projects as a research assistant during her masters. Highlights include building an ontology for the Nova Scotia Open Data Portal, analyzing the spillover effects of Canada 150 research chairs program, and working with California’s Ocean Science Trust to analyze the information pathways for California’s legislative staff. She loves to travel, paint landscapes, and voraciously go through her reading list.
