The Digital Research Alliance of Canada (The Alliance) Board of Directors is inviting dynamic, visionary leaders to apply to be the organization’s next CEO. Details are included in the CEO posting published today.
In addition to funding for ongoing national operations, the Alliance has received $85 million to date from the Government of Canada’s $2-billion Canadian Sovereign AI Compute Strategy to invest in enhancing and expanding Canada’s supercomputing infrastructure and services—equipping researchers, government and industry with the tools they need to thrive.
“This is a rare executive leadership opportunity,” says Jeffrey Taylor, Board Director and Chair of the CEO Search Committee. “The next CEO will play a pivotal role in shaping Canada’s digital research infrastructure strategy to fuel Canadian research, innovation and economic growth.”
The CEO recruitment process was announced on February 5, 2025, with George Ross’s term as CEO coming to an end later in 2025. The Board has engaged executive search firm Boyden to lead a comprehensive and consultative search in the coming months.
George Ross will continue to lead the Alliance and maintain organizational momentum until the next CEO is in place.
