The Digital Research Alliance of Canada (the Alliance) is very pleased to share a new report based on findings from the recent survey on cloud services in research: Alliance Researcher Council Cloud Survey Report. This work was led by the Researcher Council Cloud Survey Steering Group.
Adoption of cloud technologies is growing in higher education research worldwide, and Canada is no exception. Researchers across disciplines use cloud as complimentary compute and storage resources, particularly to back up and share their data with collaborators and peers. This report aims to provide insights for future efforts related to cloud technologies in Canadian research.
Over 500 researchers across Canada in various academic disciplines filled out the survey. Findings from the survey are helping to identify gaps in cloud service provision and improve the functionality of the Alliance Cloud, to better serve the research community.
