The Digital Research Alliance of Canada (the Alliance) Research Intelligence Expert Group (RIEG) is surveying Canadian research institutions, including colleges, universities and other research institutions receiving research grant funds from Canada’s federal research funding agencies, regarding the development of institutional research data management (RDM) strategies.
Institutional RDM strategies are essential to helping research institutions develop their RDM capacity, comply with funder policies and other RDM best practices, and align with national RDM policies and statements such as the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy, which launched in March 2021.
Information gathered from this survey will be used to summarize the state of institutional strategy development across Canada and inform the creation of additional resources to support Canadian institutions in developing RDM strategies. This survey was previously conducted in June 2019 and a summary report was published by RIEG.
Tri-Agency Institutional RDM Strategy Survey
The survey is expected to take 15 – 20 minutes to complete and will remain open until April 5, 2022. We request one response per institution and encourage participants to complete the survey in coordination with internal stakeholders who are involved in developing institutional RDM strategies.
Individual survey responses will not be shared. They will be used for program planning and evaluation only. A report summarizing the survey results will be shared publicly with the research community soon after the survey closes.
For more information please contact Alexandra Cooper, Chair of RIEG at coopera@queensu.ca, or Lucia Costanzo, Research, Intelligence, and Assessment Coordinator at lucia.costanzo@alliancecan.ca.
Thank you for taking the time to complete and share this survey.
