Dr. Erika Goble is the Vice Dean of Research & Academic Innovation at NorQuest College and an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. With over 20 years of experience in interdisciplinary community-based research, Dr. Goble’s research program focuses understanding the intersection of ethics and the lived experience in the health care and higher education with the goal of improving immediate and long-term outcomes. Recently, her work has begun to incorporate considerations on how to advance social equity in both sectors. For the past 10 years, Dr. Goble has also served as a senior institutional research administrator, specializing in data-linkage and data-sharing protocols between private, public, and not-for-profit organizations, institutional and community capacity building, research as practice, and advancing equity in research. Some of her recent projects include a CIHR-funded province-wide grassroots social innovation initiative focused on improving care outcomes for non-traditional continuing care clients, a $10m ESDC-funded initiative to address labor market shortages in the digital economy by pairing targeted training for Autistic and Indigenous youth with employer accessibility supports, and leading her organization’s NSERC EDI Institutional Capacity Building grant. Dr. Goble has held funding from all three Tri-Councils and multiple government departments, is the author of two books and numerous peer reviewed publications and industry reports, and serves on multiple boards and committees. Dr. Goble received her BA/Sc (Art & Anthropology) from the University of Lethbridge, her MA (Social Anthropology) from Dalhousie University, and her PhD (Secondary Education) from the University of Alberta. She also holds a PBACC in Higher Teaching & Learning from the University of Alberta, and was as an Educational Policy Fellow with the Educational Policy Research Initiative, University of Ottawa.
