The Digital Research Alliance of Canada’s Board of Directors has announced the appointment of George Ross as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Ross succeeds Nizar Ladak, who led the Alliance since October 2020. The organization thanks Mr. Ladak for his leadership and service during that period. Mr. Ross, who assumed his duties on July 8, will continue to build the Alliance’s foundation in the digital research infrastructure ecosystem and expand the Alliance’s leading role through collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
The digital research infrastructure community may recognize Mr. Ross from his tenure as the interim Executive Director of the New Digital Research Infrastructure Organization between September 2019 and October 2020. He was instrumental in establishing the organizational structure and building what is now the Alliance.
Over an impressive career, Mr. Ross has worked across numerous sectors including consulting, public service, international development, technology, research and more. Most recently, he provided advisory services to multi-national corporations, the not-for-profit sector and the government as the President and CEO of George Arthur Ross and Associates.
